Sunny
Sunny is a ten-year-old senior rescued last spring from the Andong wildfire disaster zone. When she was found, she was in critical condition. Severe insect infestations caused irreversible damage to her eyes, and despite treatment, Sunny lost her vision completely. She arrived blind, elderly, and fragile, and she chose to keep going.
Today, Sunny lives with steady, attentive care and familiar voices. Though she cannot see, she navigates the world with confidence. She follows scents with purpose, explores her surroundings carefully, and comes quickly when her name is called, especially if food might be nearby. Her curiosity and appetite for life remain intact.
Sunny is gentle, resilient, and quietly determined. With the guidance of her trainer, Choi Joowon, she continues to learn and adapt, finding comfort in routine and trust in the people around her.
Sunny’s story reflects the broader reality faced by many rural dogs. Through her rescue, over 160 dogs in the Andong region have since received spay and neuter services and veterinary care, helping prevent future suffering and neglect.
By sponsoring Sunny, you help ensure her remaining years are filled with comfort, stability, and dignity, and you support long-term change for dogs like her who are too often overlooked.
