With the support of our dedicated team and partner organizations, Korean K9 Rescue has helped save over 3,500 dogs from dire situations. In South Korea, where adoption rates remain low, many dogs face uncertain futures. We transport them to the U.S. so they have the opportunity to find loving, forever homes.
We are also proud to be a New Hope Partner with NYC Animal Care Centers (NYCACC), working together to alleviate shelter overcrowding and expand lifesaving efforts locally. Through this collaboration, more dogs are given the second chance they deserve.
As a foster-based rescue, our dogs live in loving homes before adoption. This allows them to decompress, build confidence, and show their true personalities in a home environment.

Meet Fiona | Apply Here | Videos
Fiona is one of our survivors of the Paju hoarding case from 2023 - known as the Paju Zombie Dogs to locals. Despite her overwhelming background and recovery from mange, she’s as beautiful and sweet as ever. She 5 years old and a dainty 30lbs, you’d really never know it from her tiny frame and soft presence!
Though she is definitely enjoying her time with alumni Belle, Fiona is eager to find her happily ever after. She’s loves lounging around the house and having a variety of plush bed and blankets at her paw tips. Fiona was totally down to explore in the snow, but with warmer days we’re seeing her love for sunbathing and warm air. Long walks on the beach are becoming a favorite of hers.
If you’re a cozy gal or guy looking for a cozy companion, Fiona is the perfect one. No shenanigans here, just a love for the simple things!

Meet Hasol | Apply Here
Hasol is 11 months old, 44lbs, and seemingly knows he’s absolutely gorgeous. He’s sweet and sensitive and just overall a fun loving guy.
Our adoptable boy Hasol was originally found with two siblings, abandoned on farmland in a cardboard box. In storybook fashion, a lovely family found and fostered the pups until they could find a rescue to help find homes. From tiny potato to long leggy hunk, Hasol is nothing but cute!
Having just turned one year old, Hasol is the happiest guy around. He absolutely loves playing with his foster brother, Baloo, no matter the time of day. He does do wonderfully in his crate and when it’s time to settle, but be prepared for WWE style body slams when he plays with other pups!
Everything with Hasol is a lovely walk in the park - he takes time to sniff the flowers and has become very well mannered on leash. His house training is perfect, he loves a good cuddle, and did we mention how handsome he is? Truly, Hasol is the full package.
Seeing this and thinking “wow, Hasol really is tall, tan, and handsome!” - take the hint and apply to adopt him! Pre-approved applicants can meet Hasol and his foster privately to fully experience his goofiness and charm.
You don’t have to wait for an adoption event. In-person meet-and-greets are available in the NYC area, with virtual meet-and-greets available for adopters outside NYC.

Meet Miso | Apply Here | Videos
Sweet and silly girl Miso is 4 years young and 35lbs of sleek silvery fur. She was rescued last year during the Andong Wildfires in South Korea, where we helped pull animals from the flames and ashes.
After having time to recoup at our training center in Bundang, Miso is on to better and brighter things. She only just arrived but is already flourishing in her foster home. Miso adores people and regularly flops her head back to admire her fosters as they walk. As the days go on, she’s also learning the lean tactic to get pets, and finding her favorite spots in the apartment. She’s a prime investigator though and will always give a thorough sniffing of the area before settling in.
Miso equally has a silly playful side and could play catch-no-return all day if you’d let her! She’s been soaking up the sun and rolling in the freshly mowed grass, just as any pup should. Inside and out, Miso is just a sweet and fun gal. With continued training and giving her outlets to play, she’s sure to give a lifetime of laughs.
Still contemplating? Okay okay, Miso is also eligible for our Jindo Journey training stipend! This means her adopters could receive $300 towards their required training with one of our vetted trainers! There’s only good things to come from adopting this girl.
You don’t have to wait for an adoption event. In-person meet-and-greets are available in the NYC area, with virtual meet-and-greets available for adopters outside NYC.

About:
Meet Numi | Apply Here | Videos
Numi is a petite 35lb, 6 year old Jindo mix with a long body and little legs. In 2020, our team and partners rescued over 100 dogs from a factory in Paju, South Korea. What originally started as a few dogs on the property, rapidly became a hoarding situation where the gene pool was very limited. Despite the guardian’s efforts, things were quickly out of his control and rescuers needed to step in. Since then, Numi’s two puppies and most of the relatives of the rescue have found wonderful forever homes all over the world.
This girl is a little extra special though, so her adoption journey has taken a bit longer. Currently, she’s been diagnosed as fully blind in both eyes due to advanced cataracts and chronic glaucoma. Numi is absolutely in no pain from this though, and proves more every day how resilient she is! At first meet, you might not even realize that she’s blind - she maneuvers very well both inside and out, engages with her fosters happily, and lifts her head to sniff the fresh air often.
Numi is very mellow and lowkey - she loves a good nap and adores belly rubs and neck scritches. Though she needs a special family willing to take things slow and tackle the world with her, she’s honestly a perfect little gal. She does wonderfully in her crate, is good with her house training, triumphs obstacles and new paths outside like a pro, and is already becoming more and more playful. She would thrive most outside of the city since she can be a little unsure of loud city noises.
For now, we’re only having private meet and greets for lovely Numi to reduce her stress and avoid overstimulating her in the city. But don’t let that stop you from applying!! Pre-approved adopters can meet her and her foster family one-on-one! Just connect with our team if you’re already approved or waiting to interview. Tap the link in our bio to submit your application too!
Numi would do best in a home outside of NYC

About:
Meet Schnee | Apply Here | Videos
This one of a kind guy is Schnee (슈네) and he’s just 1 year old and 22lbs. Believe it or not, he was pulled from the Nonsan city shelter euthanasia list. Despite their best efforts to get dogs adopted, adoption rates in Korea are extremely low; with the overcrowding many dogs just like Schnee end up on the euthanasia list. But now this cute scruffy little guy is ready to go home with his one true forever family.
Schnee is a pretty happy go lucky guy and is learning the ways of city living in good stride. He’s a big fan of scritches, so much that he’ll rub against buildings during his walks to get that goooood scritch (if you know what we mean). Aside from his silly wall hugging and avoiding subway grates (who doesn’t) he’s an excellent walker and keeps a relaxed pace. His little ears bopping with every step and tail gently wiggling keeps everyone in good spirits too.
Inside, Schnee is learning the joys of being alone and sometimes that’s a process. With continued support and a good routine, Schnee will be an absolute pro though! His future home is someone willing to keep strong and help him in this soul searching journey. (So the neighbors don’t complain)!
Is this scruffy dude calling your name? We knew he would!

Meet Tokki | Apply Here | Videos
Tokki (Korean for rabbit) is the absolute sweetest 4 year old Jindo mix. He’s currently 60lbs with a little room to go to the gym more 😅
Though Tokki just came into our care, he is already turning heads in his fosters neighborhood. A lovely lady even dubbed him a Himbo and honestly? Yep! With looks this good you don’t need brains, but Tokki is very mindful and demure even still.
Tokki loves his walks and sunbathing when he can. He loves having a variety of toys to play with or chew on at his leisure. And when he’s really having a good time, his tongue almost hits the floor.

Meet Pollo | Apply Here
Pollo is 6 years old and 35lbs. He can be a little shy and unsure of things at first, but once he’s given time to warm up he’s a complete goofball.
Though Pollo greatly benefits from some structure and a gentle, patient hand, he also thrives with a go with the flow mindset. Pollo loves romping around in the park and has absolutely mastered his recall with his foster @sofiatashmandogtraining
He’s a big fan of anything fun and is very easily caught in a zoomie run! He likes to play chase with his furry foster sibling and foster alike. Pollo is also super sweet and loving once he feels safe; he often gets so into pets and rubs that he’ll twist all around his foster in excitement.
This guy would be an amazing hiking partner down the line! Because of his need for extra time to feel safe and comfortable with new people, Pollo needs an experienced adopter or someone willing to put in the work to earn his affection and trust.
If your heart skipped a beat tap the link in our bio and fill out an application! Who knows, maybe you’re the match Pollo has been waiting for.

Uzu (우주, pronounced Woo-joo), means “universe” in Korean. He is a gentle, 3 year old Korean Mastiff currently thriving in foster care. At 80 pounds, he is a striking and affectionate presence, with a calm, sensitive personality.
Uzu is slowly gaining confidence and learning to trust the world around him. He enjoys walks, sniffing everything in sight, and showing playful behaviors like zoomies and bows once he feels safe. Uzu is food motivated, especially for bananas and sweet potatoes, and interacts well with other dogs in a patient and structured environment.

Meet Remi | Apply Here | Videos
Remi is a lively, clever 2 year old Terrier Mix. Remi is about 25 pounds. She came to us from NYC ACC and needed a calm, supportive environment to flourish which is exactly what she’s been getting since coming into our care.

She is energetic, playful, and full of personality, with a knack for making her humans laugh. She still benefits from guidance and encouragement as she builds confidence and expands her world.
Remi would thrive in an adult-only home with no cats, where her adopter can provide consistent structure, enrichment, and opportunities for play and learning. She is eager for a family ready to match her energy and wit.
Remi is part of our FTA VIP program, a foster-to-adopt initiative that provides promising adopters with up to 30 days to acclimate while we supply food and training support. Her training package is partially sponsored, ensuring her forever family has all the tools for success.

About:
Meet Monggun
Monggun is a strikingly handsome and soulful 3-year-old, 48-pound male Labrador Retriever, professional couch occupier, trail enthusiast, and the most devoted shadow you'll ever have.
Monggun came from a rough start. He was found abandoned in the countryside as a puppy, having survived on his own through neglect, and like most dogs who pass through shelter conditions, he didn't do well there. The fact that he is who he is today says a lot about him.
At home he's an absolute dream. No chaos, no bad behavior, just a sweet boy who wants to be wherever you are. He's gentle with kids, chill with other dogs, and will absolutely try to steal your spot on the couch the second you get up. The counter surfing is minimal. His trainer finds it charming. We're choosing to agree.
Get him outside on a trail or in the woods and he really comes alive. He's off-leash trained, obedient, and ready to explore all day with you. Genuinely the perfect adventure buddy, which honestly tracks for a Lab.
He's a sensitive guy, so loud packed places aren't really his scene, city life isn't his scene, and his ideal home is on the quieter side. He also takes his time getting comfortable with new people — totally normal given what he's been through.
A couple of non-negotiables: his adopter needs to be down for ongoing training with his trainer (free, and seriously worth it), and a GPS tracker is a must.
Monggun has already come so far. He just needs the right person to take him the rest of the way to his forever home.
