With the support of our dedicated team and partner organizations, Korean K9 Rescue has helped save over 3,500 dogs from dire situations. In South Korea, where adoption rates remain low, many dogs face uncertain futures. We transport them to the U.S. so they have the opportunity to find loving, forever homes.
We are also proud to be a New Hope Partner with NYC Animal Care Centers (NYCACC), working together to alleviate shelter overcrowding and expand lifesaving efforts locally. Through this collaboration, more dogs are given the second chance they deserve.
As a foster-based rescue, our dogs live in loving homes before adoption. This allows them to decompress, build confidence, and show their true personalities in a home environment.

About:
Meet Aru | Apply Here
This handsome red fox is Aru - he’s 4 years old and 33lbs, and likely a nice mix of Jindo and Shiba. Rescued from the wildfires last year in South Korea, Aru has the scars to prove it but you’d never guess what he’s been through with his personality. This guy is sweet, loving, and simply happy to hang out!
Aru can be quiet and a bit reserved at first as he gets to know people. Don’t let the calm fool you though, once he’s warmed up he’s playful and silly! He’s a nice balance of cool and dorky and will definitely keep people on their toes. His favorite part of his days are his walks and exploring new terrain. He’s easy on the leash and loves inspecting anything green or moving.
This guy is also eligible for our Jindo Journey training stipend! This means Aru’s adopters could receive $300 towards their required training - a perfect way to start off on a good note as he acclimates into the family.
He’ll be waiting to meet you this weekend - if he seems uninterested, it’s probably just the Shiba in him, so don’t take it personally!
You don’t have to wait for an adoption event. In-person meet-and-greets are available in the NYC area, with virtual meet-and-greets available for adopters outside NYC.

About:
Meet Hasol | Apply Here
Hasol is 11 months old, 44lbs, and seemingly knows he’s absolutely gorgeous. He’s sweet and sensitive and just overall a fun loving guy.
Our adoptable boy Hasol was originally found with two siblings, abandoned on farmland in a cardboard box. In storybook fashion, a lovely family found and fostered the pups until they could find a rescue to help find homes. From tiny potato to long leggy hunk, Hasol is nothing but cute!
Having just turned one year old, Hasol is the happiest guy around. He absolutely loves playing with his foster brother, Baloo, no matter the time of day. He does do wonderfully in his crate and when it’s time to settle, but be prepared for WWE style body slams when he plays with other pups!
Everything with Hasol is a lovely walk in the park - he takes time to sniff the flowers and has become very well mannered on leash. His house training is perfect, he loves a good cuddle, and did we mention how handsome he is? Truly, Hasol is the full package.
Seeing this and thinking “wow, Hasol really is tall, tan, and handsome!” - take the hint and apply to adopt him! Pre-approved applicants can meet Hasol and his foster privately to fully experience his goofiness and charm.
You don’t have to wait for an adoption event. In-person meet-and-greets are available in the NYC area, with virtual meet-and-greets available for adopters outside NYC.

About:
Meet Miso | Apply Here
This good lookin’ fella is Miso! He’s a 2 year old and 33lb Jindo Mix and boy does he turn heads.
Miso has been a little reserved since his arrival, but with consistent encouragement and direction from his foster family and alumni foster sibling, he’s slowly but surely coming out of his floofy shell. He absolutely needs patience and time to decompress in new places with new people. Because of his overall soft demeanor and timid nature, he would do best outside of Manhattan and away from the typical NYC grind.
This boy is excellent on the leash even still, taking guidance easily and rarely pulling on the leash. Miso loves his crate and has been an A+ student in all things house training. He’s learning to enjoy midday naps close to humans more and more. Though he might not be a snuggle bug right now, the sky is the limit for him with a loving forever home. We can’t wait to see what Miso’s future looks like once he’s had time to settle into a life of love.
Miso is available for private meet and greets for pre-approved adopters! Submit your application today and go through the steps for approval~ Our team would love to hear from you and set up a date!

Meet Pollo | Apply Here
Pollo is 6 years old and 35lbs. He can be a little shy and unsure of things at first, but once he’s given time to warm up he’s a complete goofball.
Though Pollo greatly benefits from some structure and a gentle, patient hand, he also thrives with a go with the flow mindset. Pollo loves romping around in the park and has absolutely mastered his recall with his foster @sofiatashmandogtraining
He’s a big fan of anything fun and is very easily caught in a zoomie run! He likes to play chase with his furry foster sibling and foster alike. Pollo is also super sweet and loving once he feels safe; he often gets so into pets and rubs that he’ll twist all around his foster in excitement.
This guy would be an amazing hiking partner down the line! Because of his need for extra time to feel safe and comfortable with new people, Pollo needs an experienced adopter or someone willing to put in the work to earn his affection and trust.
If your heart skipped a beat tap the link in our bio and fill out an application! Who knows, maybe you’re the match Pollo has been waiting for.

Meet Uzu | Apply | Videos
Uzu (우주, pronounced Woo-joo), means “universe” in Korean. He is a gentle, 3 year old Korean Mastiff currently thriving in foster care. At 80 pounds, he is a striking and affectionate presence, with a calm, sensitive personality.
Uzu is slowly gaining confidence and learning to trust the world around him. He enjoys walks, sniffing everything in sight, and showing playful behaviors like zoomies and bows once he feels safe. Uzu is food motivated, especially for bananas and sweet potatoes, and interacts well with other dogs in a patient and structured environment.
Uzu would thrive in an adult-only home with an active lifestyle and a warm, understanding family who can give him the space and support he needs. To learn more about Uzu’s rescue story, click here.

Meet Remi | Apply Here | Videos
Remi is a lively, clever 2 year old Terrier Mix. Remi is about 25 pounds. She came to us from NYC ACC and needed a calm, supportive environment to flourish which is exactly what she’s been getting since coming into our care.
Remi is excelling at crucial skills like impulse control, settling independently, and understanding the value of play. She is energetic, playful, and full of personality, with a knack for making her humans laugh. She still benefits from guidance and encouragement as she builds confidence and expands her world.
Remi would thrive in an adult-only home with no cats, where her adopter can provide consistent structure, enrichment, and opportunities for play and learning. She is eager for a family ready to match her energy and wit.
Remi is part of our FTA VIP program, a foster-to-adopt initiative that provides promising adopters with up to 30 days to acclimate while we supply food and training support. Her training package is partially sponsored, ensuring her forever family has all the tools for success.
Remi’s adoption fee is $300. To learn more about Remi's rescue story, click here.

About:
Meet Numi | Apply Here | Videos
Numi is a petite 35lb, 6 year old Jindo mix with a long body and little legs. In 2020, our team and partners rescued over 100 dogs from a factory in Paju, South Korea. What originally started as a few dogs on the property, rapidly became a hoarding situation where the gene pool was very limited. Despite the guardian’s efforts, things were quickly out of his control and rescuers needed to step in. Since then, Numi’s two puppies and most of the relatives of the rescue have found wonderful forever homes all over the world.
This girl is a little extra special though, so her adoption journey has taken a bit longer. Currently, she’s been diagnosed as fully blind in both eyes due to advanced cataracts and chronic glaucoma. Numi is absolutely in no pain from this though, and proves more every day how resilient she is! At first meet, you might not even realize that she’s blind - she maneuvers very well both inside and out, engages with her fosters happily, and lifts her head to sniff the fresh air often.
Numi is very mellow and lowkey - she loves a good nap and adores belly rubs and neck scritches. Though she needs a special family willing to take things slow and tackle the world with her, she’s honestly a perfect little gal. She does wonderfully in her crate, is good with her house training, triumphs obstacles and new paths outside like a pro, and is already becoming more and more playful. She would thrive most outside of the city since she can be a little unsure of loud city noises.
For now, we’re only having private meet and greets for lovely Numi to reduce her stress and avoid overstimulating her in the city. But don’t let that stop you from applying!! Pre-approved adopters can meet her and her foster family one-on-one! Just connect with our team if you’re already approved or waiting to interview. Tap the link in our bio to submit your application too!
Numi would do best in a home outside of NYC
