Most of our incoming dogs from South Korea are now available for foster-to-adopt upon their arrival to New York City. Foster-to-adopt is a 7 day trial run with your dog to see if it’s a good fit. It’s a great opportunity welcome a dog into your home. get to know each other, and make sure it’s the right fit before making it fur-ever.
If you decide not to adopt, we ask that you continue to foster the dog for a three week commitment while we find the dog a permanent home, or until the dog is adopted. We know people can be hesitant to commit to a dog they’ve only met online, especially one who just made the journey from South Korea. We’re pretty sure that spending a week together will give you the chance to fall in love and make it forever. By opening your home to one of our dogs, you enable us to save another.
You will never be alone during the foster period. Our experienced team offers the support you need through Slack every step of the way.
Check out our currently available foster-to-adopt dogs below! These dogs currently have valid USDA permits to enter NY and arrival dates are listed on each dog’s banner. Pick up of your foster dog must be at our Astoria office location the same day they arrive. We cannot hold dogs overnight, as we are not a shelter, and a 100% foster based rescue.
**We cannot accept applications within 48 hours of the arrival date shown on each dog’s banner.**

About Our Foster-to-Adopt Dogs
Many of our dogs come from difficult situations in South Korea. While they are safely rehabilitated at our rescue center, we often have limited information about how they will behave in a home environment.
All dogs receive basic care, socialization, crate introduction, and leash walking while in our care. However, things like house training, shedding, behavior with children, and personality in a home can only truly be discovered once the dog arrives and begins living with a family.
Because of this, we offer a foster-to-adopt program, which allows adopters to spend time getting to know the dog at home before finalizing the adoption. During this time, both you and our team will learn more about the dog’s personality, needs, and potential.
Please note that house training and adjustment to a new environment are always a work in progress with rescue dogs, and patience is essential during the transition period.
Our team provides continuous support via Slack to help guide you through the foster-to-adopt experience.
